Calendar and Weather Tools

Atlas can check your upcoming meetings and get the current weather during any conversation — giving you real-time awareness of your schedule and environment without switching apps.

Fetches upcoming events from your connected Google Calendar.

Key parameters:

  • hours_ahead — how far into the future to look (defaults to 24 hours)
  • max_results — maximum number of events to return

Try saying:

  • “What meetings do I have today?”
  • “What’s on my calendar this afternoon?”
  • “Do I have anything in the next two hours?”
  • “Show me my schedule for the rest of the week”
  • “What’s my first meeting tomorrow?”

Each result includes the event title, start time, end time, location (if set), and attendees (if any).

Calendar access requires a one-time Google Calendar connection. To set it up:

  1. Go to Settings in the Atlas sidebar
  2. Navigate to Integrations > Google Calendar
  3. Click Connect Google Calendar and complete the authorization flow
  4. Once connected, Atlas can read your calendar events in any conversation

Fetches current weather conditions and an optional forecast from NOAA (the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration).

Key parameters:

  • location — a city and state or zip code to look up (e.g., Denver, CO or 80201). If not provided, Atlas uses the home location configured in Settings.
  • include_forecast — whether to include a multi-day forecast in addition to current conditions

Try saying:

  • “What’s the weather like today?”
  • “How’s the weather in Denver, CO?”
  • “Is it going to rain this week in Seattle?”
  • “Weather in 10001”
  • “What’s the forecast for the next few days?”

If you’ve set your location in Settings, you can ask about weather without specifying a place:

  1. Go to Settings > General
  2. Set your Home Location (city/state or coordinates)
  3. Now “what’s the weather?” works without specifying a location every time

To set your location via the chat:

  • “Remember that I’m based in Portland, Oregon”
  • “Set my home location to Austin, TX”

Atlas will save your location to memory and use it for future weather requests.

These tools work great together. For example:

  • “I have outdoor meetings tomorrow — what’s the weather looking like?”
  • “Summarize today’s schedule and tell me the weather so I can plan my commute”
  • “What are my afternoon meetings and will I need an umbrella?”

Atlas will call both tools and weave the results into a single response.
