Usage Limits
Paid plans include generous monthly and daily limits for AI features. This page explains how those limits work and what to do if you hit them.
What’s Counted
Section titled “What’s Counted”| Resource | Unit | What Uses It |
|---|---|---|
| AI messages | Per message | Every response Atlas generates in chat |
| STT minutes | Minutes of audio | Voice input transcriptions via Whisper |
| TTS characters | Characters of text | Spoken responses from Atlas |
When Limits Reset
Section titled “When Limits Reset”| Resource | Reset Schedule |
|---|---|
| AI messages | Every day at midnight UTC |
| STT minutes | Monthly, at the start of your billing period |
| TTS characters | Monthly, at the start of your billing period |
If you subscribe on the 15th of the month, your monthly resources reset on the 15th each month. Daily messages always reset at midnight UTC regardless of when you subscribed.
Limits by Plan
Section titled “Limits by Plan”| Plan | Messages/day | STT/month | TTS chars/month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | — | — | — |
| Trial | 100 | 30 min | 50,000 chars |
| Talk | 500 | 60 min | 100,000 chars |
| Walk & Talk | 500 | 60 min | 100,000 chars |
To understand how much TTS you get: 100,000 characters is roughly 10–15 hours of spoken text at a typical reading pace.
What Happens When You Hit a Limit
Section titled “What Happens When You Hit a Limit”When you reach a daily or monthly limit, that specific feature becomes unavailable until the limit resets. The rest of Atlas keeps working normally.
- Hit message limit: You can still use all local features, search, CRM, plugins, and everything else. AI chat is paused until midnight UTC when the daily counter resets.
- Hit STT limit: Voice input (speech-to-text) is paused for the rest of the billing period. You can still type messages and use all other features.
- Hit TTS limit: Atlas stops speaking responses for the rest of the billing period. Text responses still appear normally in chat.
Atlas will show a clear message when a limit is reached, so you always know why a feature is temporarily unavailable.
Checking Your Usage
Section titled “Checking Your Usage”Go to Settings > Account to see progress bars for each resource:
- Green: Plenty of capacity remaining
- Yellow: Getting close to the limit
- Red: At or near the limit
The bars show your usage for the current period next to the total included in your plan.
Overages
Section titled “Overages”Atlas does not charge overage fees. When you hit a limit, the feature simply pauses until the limit resets. There are no surprise charges.
