What's Included
Atlas Local is one purchase, and everything it does is included. There is no recurring fee, no per-feature paywall, and no usage caps. Chat, voice, search, and automation all run on your own machine — your notes and conversations never leave your device.
One Price, Everything Included
Section titled “One Price, Everything Included”A single $37 one-time purchase unlocks the whole app, covers every 2.x release (new versions are manual downloads — there is no auto-updater), and can be activated on up to 2 devices. You can deactivate a device to move that slot to a new machine. See License & Activation for how to buy, activate, and move your license.
Once your license is activated, Atlas works completely offline. The internet is only needed to download the AI models the first time, to activate your license once, and for the optional extras you turn on yourself (weather, web search, Google Calendar sync).
What Runs on Your Device
Section titled “What Runs on Your Device”Everything below runs locally, with no account required to use the app once it’s activated, and with no usage caps.
Your vault and notes
Section titled “Your vault and notes”- Vault management: Create, move, rename, and delete notes and folders
- Note creation and editing: Full markdown support with wiki-links, tags, tasks, and frontmatter
- Local search: Hybrid semantic + keyword search across your entire vault (runs on-device with a local embedding model)
- CRM: People, organizations, topics, relationship graphs, and network visualization
- Plugins: Install and run community plugins; build your own
- Templates: Create and apply note templates
- Daily notes: Auto-generated daily notes with task tracking
- Tasks: Add, view, and complete tasks from your notes
- Scheduling and reminders: Set reminders and scheduled automation tasks
- File watcher: Atlas detects new files added to your vault and indexes them automatically
- Calendar integration: Use the calendar function from your daily notes, or connect Google Calendar (optional; needs a one-time sign-in)
- Memory and sessions: Conversation history, long-term facts, and the user profile system — all stored locally
AI, voice, and automation
Section titled “AI, voice, and automation”These run entirely on-device using the local AI models you download at first launch — no account, no cloud round-trip, nothing sent to a server:
- AI chat: The local language model that powers the agent’s responses, working with your notes and Atlas’s built-in tools.
- Speech-to-text (STT): Voice input — speak your messages instead of typing. Transcribed on-device by Whisper Base (English).
- Text-to-speech (TTS): Atlas speaks its responses aloud, generated on-device by Kokoro.
- Conversation mode: Hands-free, back-and-forth voice conversations — you speak, Atlas responds aloud, then listens again automatically. Like a phone call with your AI assistant.
- Wake word detection: Say “Hey Jarvis” hands-free to start a voice conversation (opt-in, detected locally).
- Drumbeat (ambient awareness): Periodic background check-ins where Atlas proactively surfaces overdue tasks, calendar reminders, and other relevant information.
No Account Required to Use Atlas
Section titled “No Account Required to Use Atlas”You buy Atlas Local through a free account at atlasnotes.io — that account is only how your license key is delivered and managed. The app itself never signs in: once you paste your key and activate it one time online, Atlas runs on your machine with nothing locked or degraded. Full details are in License & Activation.
